I have a 1.75” lift with 295/70/17 MT tires, no BMC and thanks to a little magic at the alignment shop, I very rarely having rubbing. I have been happy with the adjustability them, but I think that is going to fairly similar with all the brands you are considering. However, considering I have put about 80k on them and they are probably due for a rebuild, I will rebuild them and they will be as good as new. So at this very moment I wish I went with the SPC’s. May not bother some people, but it bothers me. Been busy the last couple of months, so mine are squeaking now, along with my rear lower links. bushing kit include eight half bushings for both upper control arms. Long travel bushing kits include half bushings for two upper & two lower control arms. If you are not doing you own maintenance, don’t have the extra time to spend or don’t enjoy being under FJ for a few hours, don’t buy the TC’s or another uniball UCA. Adds about an extra 30 mins for both sides. For me, I grease them every other oil change, while I have my tires off for rotation.
They do require a lot more maintenance than the SPC’s, so take that into consideration. I have had the TC’s for about 2 1/2 years and have been mostly happy with them. So now I know what each one is to some degree, but I have no clue ‘what they are’ even really means in real life application to vehicle performance and what I would need.Īny help is appreciated. Does it use cheaper parts or cheaper uniball? And what is the difference in the materials? Also, Camburg seems to be similar to Total Chaos, but a little cheaper. And SPC light racing seems to offer adjustability, but I don’t know how relavent or important that is in actuality. Total Chaos seems to be slightly more expensive than the other two but not by a lot. Is adjustable necessary?
